As mentioned in this week’s post “Living in Morocco”, we recently picked up a beautiful new book of photography for the studio.
Full of rich and unusal color combinations, Amy decided to use Living in Morroco by Barbara & René Stoeltie as a visual focal point for one of the bedrooms at her new interiors project. In fact, several of the color stories for the Union Street project, on the island of Nantucket, were influenced by this lovely book.
We all fell in love with the complex, aquamarine “Moroccan Blue”, which is featured on the cover, and throughout the book. Around it was built a story of color, contrast, and texture. The bright, crisp intensity of the blue pairs perfectly with shades of neutral, especially when used with soft wovens, knits and natural fibers. When you use naturals as a base, you can rotate in new pops of color throughout the year – a great way to liven things up and change the feel of your home.
