We’ve fallen in love with vibrant paprika this week as we put together a bedroom color story for a new Nantucket project. This paprika lamp really pops when paired with these beautifully embroidered throw pillows.
One of these gorgeous Robert Allen fabrics will be selected to recover to some mid century chairs we’ve recently bought for an upcoming project. Thanks to Lisa at Reposed NY for helping us find the chairs, we can’t wait to see the final product!
We can’t help but get excited by this huge collection of interior design and decoration skillfully curated by Dominic Bradbury and beautifully photographed by Richard Powers. This book truly captures modern interiors and the vast spectrum of style and functionality used to create a living space.
We found these gorgeous pieces of vintage wallpaper at our house on Nantucket that is currently being remodeled. They are highly textured and very fragile but so beautiful we wanted to incorporate them as a decorative piece in our home. Framing these little swatches will make a wonderful focus for any room and will also […]
Today, I am symbolically throwing out my beautiful winterberry branches that I brought home from Nantucket last fall. Not because I don’t love the deep red berries that livened up my living room all winter … but because my friend Bruce tells me I have to throw it out to encourage the Spring. With temperatures […]
We wanted to share some images of an Amy Ormond orignal upholstered chair. The pattern is intricate, but doesn’t overwhelm the space and acts as a soft focal point for this sitting room.
The Union Street project we completed this summer included two condominiums with similar floor plans, with the exception that the Upper Unit had a terrific loft that was perfect for both a bedroom and a library. We imagined the lucky future owner of this beautiful, contemporary space loving the combination of creams […]
As the winter kicked in, so did the framing on Blackberry … nearly a year ago today. The framing moved along quickly, thankfully, despite some very cold and blustery months on Nantucket. My sons enjoyed the make-shift playground on our weekend visits to see the progress! We saved all the old […]
I’m so happy to finally share photos of the finished interiors of the Union Street Nantucket project. After months of designing and planning and selecting and packing (and hand-wringing), we installed the furniture into two beautifully renovated condominiums in the historic district of Nantucket. For the unit shown here, I selected a combination of indigos and […]
The project to restore and renovate Blackberry began earlier this year with a bang! Loud dump trucks and excavators took the first (painful) steps of removing the old kitchen which wasn’t in the best of shape. Little did we know at the time that the foundation underneath it was even worse off and required a complete overhaul. […]
The Studio was abuzz all summer with all kinds of new projects from product and print design to interior design for two Nantucket properties. For one of the properties, I started with a clean palette of whites, creams and grays, then added deep reds and indigos for a rich, global feeling. Using pillows, throws, footstools […]
As mentioned in this week’s post “Living in Morocco”, we recently picked up a beautiful new book of photography for the studio. Full of rich and unusal color combinations, Amy decided to use Living in Morroco by Barbara & René Stoeltie as a visual focal point for one of the bedrooms at her new interiors project. […]
Introducing “Blackberry” … our (new?!) century-and-a-half old home in the Historic District of Nantucket! We fell in love with this exceedingly tall yet perfectly hidden sleeper a year ago for lots of reasons, not least because it sits quietly at the end of a long and narrow driveway that has its own address: One Blackberry […]
